Sara was born June 14, 2001 at 8:08am, weighing in at 8 lbs, 5 oz. Now almost fifteen months old, she's an old pro at walking (actually, she prefers running these days, especially if Mom is asking her to do something). Her vocabulary is growing every day and includes such words as "cool", "duck", and "avocado" (but she doesn't seem to share her parents' fondness for guacamole). She loves her books and is accumulating quite a library. Some of her current favorite "reads" are Barnyard Dance, Pajama Time, and Moo Baa La La La, all by Sandra Boynton, as well as any Arthur books, books about colors or babies, and catalogs (especially if they haven't been read by Mom and Dad yet). |
When she's not having her books read to her (over and over again), Sara loves to be outside. She doesn't seem to care whether it's sunny or pouring (not that it's been doing much of that this summer - except when we were on vacation at the beach, that is), or if the wind is blowing hard enough to knock her off her feet - out of doors is where she prefers to be. Her favorite outdoor activities include running down the driveway towards the street at breakneck speed; chasing Maddux and stealing her toys; eating dirt, rocks, sticks, and whatever else she can get her hands on (no bugs yet, thank God); picking flowers from Mom's garden; and, of course, getting as wet and dirty as possible just before going to Gymboree. Based on her passion for the outdoors, we think she'll grow up to be one of the following: a meteorologist, a park ranger, or a contestant on "Survivor".
